Water-soluble Embroidery Lace

(A): Select water-soluble special base fabric, such as water-soluble non-woven fabric or water-soluble paper. When exposed to water, this type of base fabric will completely dissolve without leaving any impurities.
(B): The designer draws the lace pattern according to the requirements, and then uses computer embroidery software to make the pattern layout, determining the color of the embroidery thread, the direction of the stitches, the size of the pattern, etc., and generating a file that can be imported into the embroidery machine.
(C): Import the pattern file into the computer embroidery machine. The machine will follow the preset program to stitch the embroidery thread layer by layer onto the water-soluble base fabric, forming a complete lace pattern.
(D): Water-soluble removal of the backing. Place the embroidered blank material in a warm water or hot water pool for soaking. During the soaking process, the water-soluble base fabric will gradually soften and dissolve. During this time, you can gently stir or knead the blank material to help the base fabric dissolve completely, and finally only the hollow lace formed by the embroidery thread will remain.
(E): Ironing and shaping. After drying, the lace may have slight wrinkles. Use a low-temperature iron to iron it, and at the same time, adjust the shape of the lace to make the pattern flat and the edges smooth. After shaping, it will not deform easily.

(A) Cotton water-soluble lace: Soft and breathable, with a soft touch, but has average washability and is prone to slight deformation. It is suitable for close-fitting clothes and children's clothing.

(B) Polyester water-soluble lace: Wear-resistant and washable, with firm color fastness, high cost performance. Its breathability is slightly inferior to cotton, and it is suitable for clothing edging and home furnishing.
(C) Silk water-soluble lace: High gloss and smooth texture, but expensive and prone to snagging and damage. It is suitable for high-end dresses and luxury accessories.
(D) Gold and silver thread water-soluble lace: Shiny and magnificent, with strong visual effect. The texture is relatively hard and prone to oxidation. It is suitable for stage costumes and gift boxes.

(A) Production process: Water-soluble lace belongs to embroidery lace and uses water-soluble polyvinyl chloride thread as the "base". First, the pattern is embroidered on the base, then the finished product is placed in water to dissolve the polyvinyl chloride thread in the base, and finally an independent and three-dimensional pattern is obtained. Its production process is more delicate and requires higher equipment and process requirements. Ordinary lace includes machine-woven lace, knitted lace, and woven lace, etc. Machine-woven lace is directly woven with a pattern on a loom; knitted lace is woven through a knitting machine; woven lace is mostly handmade and has a relatively simple process, without the step of water-soluble dissolution.
(B) Material and texture differences: After the base of water-soluble lace dissolves, the pattern part mostly uses polyester, cotton thread, gold and silver thread, etc. The finished product has strong three-dimensionality, clear and exquisite patterns, clean and neat edges, and a slightly stiff texture. The material and texture of ordinary lace vary depending on the process. For example, machine-woven lace commonly uses polyester or nylon, with a soft or smooth texture; knitted lace has good elasticity; hand-woven lace is mostly made of cotton thread, with a plain texture. The overall three-dimensionality is usually not as strong as water-soluble lace, and some ordinary lace edges may have frayed edges.
(C) Appearance and complexity of floral patterns: Water-soluble lace can create complex and delicate floral designs, such as hollowed-out flowers and lace-like patterns with a textured feel. The details are rich and the visual effect is magnificent, often used for decorative purposes in high-end clothing. Ordinary lace has relatively simpler floral patterns, mostly repetitive simple designs, such as wave patterns, small floral designs, and geometric patterns. The style leans towards being casual and simple.
