Cotton Covered Boning

Cotton Covered boning is designed for flexible, light support. It is very easy to sew to hold and stablize the wedding dresses, evening dresses, lingerie, hat, toys etc.

The material is very resistant to detergents and is extremely durable. Machine washable and dry-cleanable.

The color is usually in White or Black.

Stays are excellent for use in costumes, evening wear, and bridal attire.

In daywear garments, a few bones can be indispensable for stabilizing features such as a seam, skirt yoke, oversized waistband, square neckline, or decorative fold.

Our boning is tipped with several layers of a thick, white, water-based lacquer to prevent fabric wear. This type of boning is ideal for straight seams, such as those at the center front and back of a corset.

It does not bend from side to side (only front to back), so for curved seams, spiral steel boning is recommended. Boning is always placed between two or more layers of fabric, either set into a bone casing or between a top-stitched seam allowance and the outer fabric.

Safe for hand washing and dry cleaning.
To cut boning to your desired length, use heavy-duty wire cutters, and to keep the ends smooth inside the garment, apply a silver end cap or use tool dip from a hardware store.
